It is a pleasure to write this recommendation for the Safety First Personal Protection Program. This spring we had the privilege of hosting the program at Harbor Heights Elementary School in Gig Harbor, Washington and found the program to be very worthwhile.
The goal of the program is to empower children with the personal protection and safety skills was met through the course of several lessons taught during a 3 day visit to our school. Some of the lessons reviewed included how to recognize predators, normal adult-child relationships, honoring feelings and knowing boundaries, as well as how to protect your body.Each lesson involved a hands-on activity to demonstrate and drive home the important points.
Bill Kortenback, co-owner of the program, is very passionate about the topic of personal safety. He is involved and charismatic instructor who works along with his team of volunteers to provide students with the life long tools which enable them to stay safe.
